CAPE TOWN - Four firefighters have been injured while battling a blaze on the slopes of Table Mountain.
The flames have gutted several structures, including part of the Rhodes Memorial restaurant and a library at the University of Cape Town (UCT).
Den Anker restaurant offers free meals to UCT students affected by fire

Belgian restaurant Den Anker has used the power of social media to reach out to University of Cape Town residence students in need of food amid raging fires that destroyed parts of the university on Sunday.
In a Twitter post, the restaurant wrote they would be serving the students for a week but they needed to bring their residence card as proof.
“Any UCT res students who have been directly affected by the fire are welcome to come over to Den Anker this evening.
“We will serve you a plate of food, you will need to provide us with proof of your res card. #DenAnker #NewlandsFire #UCTStudents #Fire #CapeTownFire,” they wrote.

Firefighters in Cape Town are still battling a raging wildfire on the slopes of Table Mountain as strong winds hinder efforts to contain the Rhodes Memorial Fire, which began on Sunday morning, 18 April.
The fire has spread towards the residential area of Vredehoek, where evacuations are underway. Additional fire crews were also deployed to the area.

University of Cape Town (UCT) Vice-Chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng, and Local Government and Environmental Affairs MEC Anton Bredell conducted a site visit at UCT to assess the damage caused by a runaway mountain fire.

The City’s Air Quality Monitoring Unit said it has recorded very high levels of particulate at the Foreshore Monitoring Station.

More than 200 firefighters have been battling the inferno.
Fire and rescue services Jermaine Carelse: An additional member from the volunteer service was also injured and was taken to hospital, so we re currently standing at four firefighters - two from the city and two from the volunteer firefighting service.
It prompted a mass evacuation of the UCT campus.
