An internal interim report of Rajya Sabha security is learnt to have named some opposition MPs, including those of Trinamool, Congress and CPI(M), for allegedly indulging in unruly behaviour and clashing with the security personnel deputed there.
The Modi government on Thursday went on the offensive against the Opposition, as it demanded action against unruly members and a public apology from them for assaulting a lady marshal in the Rajya Sabha.
Sources have told India Today TV that the Rajya Sabha Chairman and Lok Sabha Speaker have held discussions on the course of action that can be taken against the MPs who were seen clashing with the marshals in the Upper House.
“Today, we had to come out here to speak to you (media) as we (Opposition) are not allowed to speak in the Parliament. This is murder of democracy,” said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
