On Friday, Piedmont Access to Health Services (PATHS) distributed a small number of COVID-19 vaccinations out of their brand new mobile unit, which is fully equipped to provide medical care to people where they are.
In what started as a project for a school-based health clinic, PATHS has been working on getting a mobile unit for more than a year now. The unit, which is fully equipped with a medical, lab and dental station, was originally considered to travel to different Pittsylvania County schools to offer care.
The mobile unit finally arrived on Thursday, March 4, and will allow PATHS to reach the communities they serve, including Danville, Pittsylvania County, Martinsville, South Boston and Boydton, in a whole new way.Â
