PIGEON FORGE — City Commissioners heard Monday from three different property owners who were upset about how the next leg of the Westside Connector could affect their property.
SEVIERVILLE â Seven more Sevier County residents have died from COVID-19 over the past two days, according to figures from the Tennessee Department of Health.
The state reported six new deaths Thursday, but the figures were not released until after presstime. With one additional death Friday, the total number of deaths has reached 85.
The state also reported four new hospitalizations among Sevier County residents over the past two days.
There are now 1,054 active cases, after that number briefly dipped below 1,000. The state reported 219 positive test results from 847 tests, for a positivity rate of 26%.
The number of deaths at local long-term care facilities have also continued to rise, according to additional figures released by the state Friday.
SEVIERVILLE â State officials reported three new deaths related to COVID-19 among Sevier County residents over the weekend.
The Tennessee Department of Health has now reported 58 deaths related to the virus among Sevier County residents this year, with 25 reported so far in December.
There were 624 positive test results out of 2,043 tests from Sevier County residents over the weekend, for a positivity rate of 30.5%.
The total number of active cases rose to 1,715, an increase of 503 in just three days.
The state reported five new hospitalizations from over the weekend, as state officials have indicated hospitals across the state are in danger of running out of bed capacity.
