As of 8 p.m. Friday, the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management says the fire burned about 700 acres and is 35 percent contained. Forward progression has stopped.

The fire was first reported Thursday afternoon off of Old Antioch Road.

Bastrop County officials said the fire is estimated to be 320 acres with 5% containment, as of 9:45 p.m.

Fire operations continue to contain the fire which has burned more than 300 acres. Those that were evacuated have been allowed to return home.

Data indicate at least 23.9 million Texans live in drought-stricken areas and 2022 to date is the states second-driest year in the past 128 years.
