You couldnt actually see it across the street, it moved quickly but it was a wild ride. Elizabeth strong wind caused widespread damage across a lot of the state. This was the scene on southwest 26th in des moines. Where more than the second floor of nearby jefferson elementary. A powerful nearby was snapped at its base, leaving that area pitch black after sunset. My heart just stopped, i couldnt believe how much damage happened in such a short amount of time. Unbelievable. Elizabeth the National Weather service will be surveying that area along southwest 26th to determine if the damage was caused by wind or an actual tornado.
