The new ones only work about 80% of the time. so theres a lot of reasons why we might not hear the signal. the pinger only -- you have to be within a mile undert water. thats why theyve had such a hard time finding it. this, instantaneously, the new ones, anywhere in the world can be detected by the satellite. the older ones you have you to triangulate in. it takes longer. it would be nice to know from the airline if they were carrying the older one or the n newer, more sophisticated ones. >> we...
