Joe Yancey, of the Mason Dixon Boys, carved on one of the black bears for the Oak Hill school campus last week on the parking lot of Fayette Institute of Technology. Yancey and Travis Crook are co-owners of Mason Dixon Boys, which has been in operation full-time for more than three years. The carved black bear project was undertaken by the Oak Hill Beautification Commission.

The graduation bear will stand at the entrance to the Oak Hill school complex âfor many years to come,â according to Judy Lively, director of attendance for Fayette County Schools, who also serves as chair of the cityâs Beautification Commission.
