For the seventh year, Piper-Heidsieck is the official bubbly of the Academy Awards. The French champagne house’s history with Hollywood dates back to 1933 when a bottle of Piper appeared in Laurel and Hardy’s debut film “Sons of the Desert” in 1933. This year, the stars will receive a magnum featuring Piper-Heidsieck’s signature Cuvée Brut. The bottle actually lights up with a press of a button at the base of the bubbly.
A spokesman for the Elysium Group said: The roof garden is expected to open in May this year, in time for the summer season. This new addition will offer an incredible rooftop dining experience where guests can enjoy Pavilion’s pan pacific inspired menu complimented by their extensive selection of fine wines and cocktail, all in a beautifully decorated, lush roof garden dressed with tropical plants, feature trees, bamboo planters and a “secret garden”. The alfresco dining experience has seen Pavilion partner with Piper Heidsieck Champagne. Pavilion offers a Pan-Pacific inspired menu and a wide selection of drinks. -

The EU rules specifically apply to live bivalve molluscs such as mussels, oysters, scallops, cockles and clams. The industry is worth around £12m a year, which might be small fry to the UK economy as a whole but is of critical value to the communities who rely on the sea for their livelihoods.

Delays caused by red tape have forced the price of British fish and seafood to plummet as European buyers refuse to pay top dollar for produce that is not as fresh as they would wish.
