wankhede: India, New Zealand semis pitch in Wankhede changed to help spinners, claims a report
Reports suggest a pitch switch at Mumbais Wankhede Stadium for Indias ICC World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. The originally chosen pitch has been replaced with one that has already been used twice in the tournament. The switch is believed to favor Indian spinners. The pitch consultant, Andy Atkinson, raised concerns about the change and questioned the fairness of pitch selection for the final match as well.
