PITTSBURGH, PA A winter storm warning remains in effect for Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Initial snow projections for the storm have been downgraded, but the region still will see a significant combination of snow, sleet and ice.
The National Weather Service is predicting heavy mixed precipitation, with additional snow accumulations of one to three inches and ice accumulations of two-tenths to one-quarter of an inch.
According to the weather service, power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
