PETERSBURG Jacquelyn Kidd stopped getting Saturday mail deliveries months ago.
Sometimes, if she’s lucky, she’ll get mail on Friday or Monday, but usually, the deliveries would stop around Thursday and kick up on Tuesday of the following week. She was even luckier if the mail came before sundown.
For almost two years, Kidd, 79, and her neighbors have undergone a series of spotty mailing issues with the United States Postal Service. The mail inconsistencies forced Kidd into enrolling for USPS’s informed delivery, a service that keeps track of a resident’s incoming mail.
“We are at the bottom of the totem pole in Petersburg,” said Kidd.
