The West Bromwich Building Society branch in Newtown has arrange for a £1,000 donation to the Plas Cae Crwn care home to support the elderly. The funds will be used to renovate the care home’s courtyard and introduce an outdoor seating area an A care home in Newtown has received much needed funds from a local building society branch to help towards the care for their elderly residents. The West Brom, which has a branch on Broad Street, presented Plas Cae Crwn with a £1,000 donation from its Mercian Trust Fund, which will be used towards the landscape improvements for the care home.

Three Powys care homes vaccinate all residents with first Covid jab

Three care homes in Powys are leading the charge after announcing that they have already given all residents the first of the two vaccine jabs. Every resident at Cartref care home in Hay-on-Wye, Prestemede care home in Presteigne, and Cartref Dyfi in Machynlleth have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccination, providing them with a high level of protection from the virus. Shaw healthcare, which operates Cartref, Prestemede, Cartref Dyfi and nine other care homes in Powys on behalf of Powys County Council, is aiming to have all its residents and staff receiving the first dose of the vaccine by the end of January – several weeks ahead of the Welsh Government’s target.
