In mid-December Plattsburgh Police Chief Levi Ritter took a leave of absence for personal reasons.
He was subsequently placed on paid administrative leave by the previous administration.
In a statement Thursday, Mayor Chris Rosenquest announced that “After a number of discussions, Mr. Ritter decided it would be best for him to part ways with the City and resign his position as Police Chief effective the end of April.”
Captain Brad Kiroy is serving as acting police chief.
