If we can improve safety, give a better perception of safety, we think the neighborhood will be better for everybody. Im available to you all, however i can be helpful. Ben alderman khalif rainey says hes willing to listen to concerned residents. What i was expecting from the alderman was a plan of action. Ben ed bullock, a former mpd officer wants to know how positive change will make its way to sherman park. We asked the alderman for an interview. We just want to know how community . Im not answering that right now, but i appreciate it. Ben he declined. Right now, the residents say theyll come together and volunteer for patrols. Our ultimate goal is to increase the quality of life for sherman park residents through safety. Ben theyre hoping to start citizen patrols as soon as possible. Morning here behind me in the alley, neighbors saying it was all over a mattress. Into his house. When officers arrived he refused to come out. Police learned there was a 6yearold boy inside. After trying to negotiate with the suspect, officers forcefully entered the home. 12 news cameras captured video of the man being taken into custody. Also, the boy being carried safely to a squad. Milwaukee police say it was never a hostage situation, but sensitive knowing a child was inside. Shots fired, somebody in the house with a child not willing to come out. Long. It started around midnight. When officers connection with a homicide. The driver took off. And ended up crashing into a car near 15th and capitol. Stopping right next to a house. The driver who Police Believe is a homicide suspect ran away from the crash. Officers found him hiding in a nearby yard. And he was arrested. Whats happened. Thats our big story at four the battle over the fence around sherman park. This weekend, county executive chris abele and sheriff clarke battled over who has ultimate control over in sherman park. Yesterday, abele ordered the fence be taken down,. Later in the day Sheriff Deputies put the fence back up. Thats when a judge stepped in. Fox6s Jonathon Gregg joins us live from sherman park and continues the story. Judge David Hansher had the final say it seems, ordering soon as possible. soon as possible came just before 12 30 this afternoon as a handful of parks employees arrived with flatbed trucks. They started on the north end of sherman park cutting away the orange fence and wrestling out the fence posts.
