Earlier vicki today three city councilmembers talked to these prevention measures. It slowed things down. We suspected it was a hoax the entire time. Because we were confident that we had all the information at our fingertips regarding who was staying in the home. Who owned the home. Those people were accounted for. Reporter eventually tear gas was used a 2nd time which set the home on fire. Because the incident was active in the suspect was known to be armed, our actions were measured. And so our initial action was aimed at navarro minimize the fire and made a rescue. We made pleaded rescue attempts to get into the house. But he had barricaded himself in a location we were unable to safely get to. Reporter the fire was put out at 7 45. In the suspects body was discovered shortly thereafter. At this point we cannot say whether he died as a result of the fire or of the gun play between he and the 2nd officer that was shot in this case.
