it? reporter: well, until now, owners have only had to register their aircraft once, at the time of purchase. they have to report changes, the sale of an aircraft or scrapping. a lot haven t been doing it, so a large number of the records are out of date. now the faa has issued a new rule requiring all civil aircraft to be reregistered over the next three years and after that, owners have to renew the registration every three years comparable to what we do with cars. owners who don t comply will have their registrations cancelled and that aircraft will not be permitted to fly. we appreciate you as always. despite opposition from members of his own party, president obama not backing down on a tax cut deal he worked out with republicans. house republican maines shot the deal down essentially but the senate still may vote on the deal next week.
