The former Congress corporators said the tendering process of basic amenities in hospitals has been pending for the last year due to the laxity of the administration.
The corporation says the new scheme will benefit 5,000 residents and that it will be extended to as many years as possible till the target is achieved.
The office has been named as ‘Citizen’s Center’ and Lodha said he will sit in this office thrice every week where he will interact with citizens of Mumbai and will try towards addressing their grievances.
"The civic administration has not favoured any contractor. The tender process for desilting was conducted transparently, and work order is issued in the same way," Chahal said.
The civic body has already started the work for a medical college and is planning a separate hospital for the college, said Kumar, adding that PMC will also work for providing basic facilities such as water, roads, and drainage for the newly included 34 villages under the jurisdiction of PMC.
