John C. Metz Sr., founder of Metz Culinary Management and Environmental Services based in Dallas, Luzerne County, died Monday at age 83 in his home surrounded by his family, it was announced on Metz Culinary Management’s Facebook page.

Kaddari, a Walner filly who started her career with victories in the last two prelims of the Bobby Weiss Series for three-year-old trotting fillies, added the $50,000 Weiss Championship to her rapidly-growing resume on Tuesday afternoon at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania.

The second edition of the $100,000 Paul Revere Pace for three-year-olds in 2023 will go postward in two six-horse divisions at Plainridge Park on Thursday afternoon (May 4) and many of the entrants will be making their initial appearance on the track this year. 

C Is For Cookie was the only competitor in the Bobby Weiss Series for three-year-olds who won all three of her preliminary races, and on Monday afternoon (May 1) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the daughter of Betting Line racked up the grand slam by impressively winning the divisional final.

In the richest race of the young season at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the $50,000 Bobby Weiss Series Championship for three-year-old pacing colts, second choice I Was Tricked downed the previously-unbeaten All Class and held off a pair of longshots in a lifetime best performance.

While first-leg pacing winners I Did It Myway and Boudoir Hanover promise to be heavy favourites in their respective $50,000 second-round Kentucky Standardbred Development Fund (KSDF) stakes events for four-year-olds on Monday, May 1 at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, Iwont Backdown As will have a host of fresh competition looking to topple him in the male trot.
