[applause] thank you. Its really an honor and a privilege to be here. I was asked to say a few words to introduce the next panel. I would start by saying something that we probably know. The court is a fairly powerful institution. It was not always so, one of the signs of how powerful it is, is that you do see, in any president ial election, people say it matters who you vote for because they will pick the next Supreme Court justices. Part of the reason that makes them so important is that the law runs out before you get to the decision. So how do we

It is a real treat, a real pleasure and privilege to want to get host chairman mccaul on campus. He has been chairman of the House Homeland Security committee since 2013. At a time where there seems to be gridlock in washington, d. C. , i can say without any exaggeration, he is arguably one of the most prolific and more importantly, effective legislators in d. C. Right now, focused on a whole host of National Security issues and also chairs his committee in a genuinely bipartisan way, which is very true to the issues that our country faces on national and Homeland Security.
