Eveleth Police say a man is recovering from wounds and a juvenile male is in custody after a stabbing early Monday.
The incident was reported shortly after 4 a.m. in the 300 block of 15th Avenue West in Eveleth. Police Chief Jesse Linde say officers found the 20-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds.
A short time later, officers located two male juveniles near the scene and took then into custody. One of the juveniles was sent to a regional juvenile detention facility, while the other was released to his parents.
Linde says formal charges are expected later this week.
EVELETH â Rock Ridge officials closed the Eveleth-Gilbert High School on Monday after alleged threats were made toward students, but they expected to reopen the building for classes today.
School administrators were made aware of the threats early Monday morning and opted to cancel instruction for grades 9-12 to allow for an investigation by Rock Ridge Public Schools and the Eveleth Police Department.
âThe investigation is continuing but we do not have any credible evidence that any students or staff are at any risk,â wrote Superintendent Dr. Noel Schmidt, in an afternoon email to parents. âIf we had any credible evidence that any students or staff were at risk, we would continue to close the Eveleth-Gilbert High School.â
