Two from Ohio charged with loaded handguns after Secaucus traffic stop

Two people from Ohio were arrested with loaded handguns after a traffic stop on Route 3 in Secaucus Wednesday, authorities said.
Secaucus Police Officer Michael Borrelli noticed a vehicle that did not have a driver-side mirror traveling east on Route 3 and pulled over the vehicle, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. During the 7:54 p.m. stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana from the passenger side of the vehicle and saw suspected marijuana protruding out of the passenger’s front pants pocket, Miller said.

A Maryland driver pulled over for having illegally tinted windows Saturday was arrested when police recovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
Secaucus Police Officer Michael Borrelli stopped Christopher Ray of District Heights, Maryland, on Paterson Plank Road at First Street at 12:56 p.m., Miller said. During the stop, Borrelli found that Ray had the .45-caliber gun loaded with 23 bullets in an illegal 30-round magazine inserted within next to the driver’s seat.
