deficits, should collective bargaining be limited? 45% support, 42% oppose. the poll we just saw also showed folks feel that the unions need to give a little bit and public employees need to pay more. 63% support that. i have questions, just about the first question there. i don t know. if the question was should collective bargaining rights be limited? that is a different kind of polling question should they be stripped completely. maybe it s the wrong word. i want to know what the clear question of that poll s. they re not being stripped completely in wisconsin even. they can still collectively bargain for their salary. their wages. that ain t nothing. is it nothing? i m not saying it s not nothing. it s a real thing. there s an awful lot more to collective bargaining than merely that one aspect. absolutely. you think the state senators hold out and walker loses?
absolutely. that s because after next tuesday, which is inauguration day here in florida, there will only be one democrat still standing who represents all of the state of florida as part of that person s job. that is u.s. senator bill nelson. he is a two-term democratic senator from the sunshine state. he used to be an astronaut. on election night last month. an evening that brought marco rubio to win that historic race for the u.s. senate who was introduced on stage by jeb bush, that was a night where republicans defeated democrats in every single statewide race on the ballot from. rick scott at the governor s race on down the line. now, according to public policy polling, looking ahead to 2012, florida republicans in the telephone poll said number one republican they want to challenge democratic senator nelson is jeb bush. 72%. every other republican in the polling question only got single digits.
against the bill? i don t think so. the speaker took a hard line against the bill, there wouldn t have been 138 or more democrats who voted for the bill. all you have to do is look at the vote last night. it was a strong bipartisan vote in favor of the bill. why? because you saw polling all week that indicated that the american people were in favor of stopping all of the tax acts. is he right? is that basically what happened, that democrats did cave in eventually because they looked at the poll. every single poll says 59, 60, 65% support in various polls. 59% in our support in our poll showing support for the tax cut. well, first, i m not sure that people support this package. what they support is the concept of a compromise. and the polling question is, do you agree with the compromise that president obama reached with the republicans? well, a lot of people have a lot of faith in the president and
