The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency improperly granted permits to a copper-nickel mine, according to a ruling by the Minnesota Supreme Court.

With Wednesday’s ruling, the Supreme Court sent the crucial permit for the NewRange mine, formerly PolyMet, back to the MPCA.

The court says state pollution officials hid EPA warnings.
