World Para Swimming World Series to return after six-month break Wednesday, 7 April 2021
Sheffield in Britain is set to stage the first World Para Swimming World Series event in more than six months from tomorrow.
The competition at the Ponds Forge International Swimming Centre, which runs until Sunday (April 11), is due to be the first of the 2021 season.
More than 90 swimmers from 21 countries have entered the event, according to World Para Swimming.
Israel, France, Egypt, Japan, Iceland, Mexico, Russia and Uganda are among those to have sent athletes to the competition, set to be held behind closed doors and with a number of measures in place to limit the risk posed by COVID-19.

World Para Swimming announced on Friday (18 December) the provisional calendar for the 2021 World Series.
It will be the first time the series take place in the year of the Paralympic Games, giving athletes the chance to compete in high-level events in preparation for Tokyo 2020.
The 2021 World Series have five confirmed stops with another leg set to be announced in January.
Sheffield, Great Britain will receive the season-opener World Series from 8-11 April in the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. The British city returns to the World Series after being part of the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
