Frustrated after the abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan is trying to disturb peace and harmony in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.

The April 21 attack at Bhatta Durian in Poonch in which five soldiers of Rashtriya Rifles lost their lives was carried out with local support, J&K DGP Dilnagh Singh said in Rajouri on Friday.

Mukhtar Hussain Shah (55), who is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son, was found in an unconscious condition near Government High School, Nar on April 26 morning

Director General of J&K Police Dilbag Singh said that terrorists conducted a recce of the area with the help of the locals and selected a spot to ambush the army vehicle.

While Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh identified them as “Nissar Ahmed and his family members”, sources said that the other two include Farid and Mushtaq.

Modi has not come out with any reaction condemning the terror attack, even as reports indicate a Taliban link in it, Congress spokesman Pawan Khera said.

Sources in Pakistan’s Foreign Office claim they “didn’t propose” a bilateral meeting between Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto and EAM S Jaishankar, amid reports that India turned it down after last Thursday’s LoC terror attack

Based on the particulars of the attacks that the investigators have been able to piece together so far, it is clear that unlike most recent militant actions in J&K, the Poonch attack was premeditated and appears to have involved far more calculation.
