The latest update from the Ministry of Health has just 43 Saskatchewan residents in hospital because of COVID-19, the lowest that number has been in the province since November 9.
Nine of the 43 hospitalied patients are receiving treatment in an I-C-U. That positive statistic comes on a day in which there are 50 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 51 individuals having recovered, leaving 376 active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan. Of concern in Wednesday’s update is that 67 of 88 new, confirmed Variants of Concern in the province are of the highly-transmissable Delta strain. Otherwise, after 4,562 doses of vaccine were administered on Tuesday, Saskatchewan is less than 5,200 shots away from 1.4 million jabs.
