Festus Police are investigating the theft of multiple packages from the porch of a home in the 100 block of Scenic Lane. The victim reported the thefts on April 18 after determining the packages had arrived April 15.
The Jackson County Sheriff s Office posted on Facebook that package thefts in Jackson County have recently increased. Medford Police Department says this increase is to be expected, saying that the holidays are when package thefts increase.
A recent FedEx survey shows porch thefts have risen over the last two years, with 28 per cent of respondents reporting they've had packages stolen by so-called porch pirates.
