after what happened with ike, i think most people in texas would gladly rum resources as quickly as we can get them. congressman, thank you very much. we re going to get back out on the road down there. nbc s gabe gu tear rez is in corpus christy. gabe. reporter: katy, good afternoon the we re here in texas near where hurricane harvey is supposed to make landfall later on toemt. and really most of the residents here have gotten out of dodge as the mayor urged them to do yesterday. there are not mandatory evacuations orders in corpus christy. just some of the surrounding low lying areas, but this is a very serious situation here. we ve been driving around for the past few hours and we ve seen some rainbands that have p come bay and the winds have picked up. one area port ar an sass which is near here. conditions there are deteriorating rapidly. we were also at a evacuation center where so far more than 700 people have been processed
