Wheelie bins to Touwsranten a step in the green direction The mayor appealed to the residents of Touwsranten to look after their wheelie bins as they don t come cheap. Each bin has a unique number and residents had to sign for their bins. GEORGE NEWS - Touwsranten was the first area to receive wheelie bins as part of a greening project by George Municipality yesterday, Wednesday 26 May.  The first 20 bins, part of a total of 620 bins to the value of R350 000, were hand-delivered by George Mayor Leon van Wyk. The remaining bins will be delivered in the coming days.

GEORGE NEWS - World Book Day, 23 April, was met with enthusiasm at Conville and George libraries.  Youngsters had the chance to meet George Mayor Leon van Wyk during a story hour at Conville Library where he read to the youngsters.  George Library obtained a valuable set of reference material when bird enthusiast and author, Peter Ginn, donated his latest glossy, full colour double-volume guide for birding enthusiasts to the library.
