GEORGETOWN COUNTY — Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver has announced the arrest of a Georgetown County man who is charged with two counts of murder. According to a Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, Lavorn Hakeem Johnson, 32, was taken into custody by GCSO deputies on Belton Loop in the Dunbar community on Nov. 7 and is charged with the murders of Melvin Wise, 57, and Andrene Stewart, 41, both of New York.

An arrest has been made in a months-long homicide investigation in Georgetown County, South Carolina, according to deputies.
