A new study from the University of San Diego that surveyed more than 300 elected officials reported that 75 percent of them been threatened or harassed in their role as a public servant.

Nearly three-quarters of elected officials in San Diego County reported being threatened or harassed, according to a study released Monday from the University of San Diego's Violence, Inequality and Power Lab.

Local academics recently reviewed the Twitter accounts of San Diego County elected officials dating back to 2018.
