DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA A ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, in the latest multi-state Powerball lottery drawing was sold at a smoke shop in Desert Hot Springs and is worth $33,827, the California Lottery announced.
There were six other tickets sold in California with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number.
California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis. Tickets sold in other states with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, are worth $1 million or $2 million when the player utilizes the Power Play option, where for an additional $1 per play, a ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, is worth $2 million.
