Reports submitted in sealed covers by SIT chief Siddharth Chattopadhayaya in 2018 were recently made public by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Mann also asked the vigilance bureau to investigate the wealth amassed by the police officer through alleged drug money.

While probing the “complicity” of Raj Jit Singh with Inderjit Singh, the SIT report states that “certain serious acts of misconduct on the part of Inderjit Singh have emerged, which is smuggling drugs from Pakistan with the aid of smugglers like late Gurjeet Singh, Sahab Singh, Dalbir Singh and dismissed BSF personnel Suresh Kumar Tyagi”.

His statement came six days after the Punjab and Haryana High Court opened three out of four sealed reports on the role of police officials in the drug trade in the state.

In a tweet, Mann said, "Received 3 files related to drug issue, opened by the Hon'ble High Court, which remained closed for many years! Will take strict action against those responsible for ruining the future of Punjab's youth.”

A three-member special investigation team (SIT) constituted by the high court had submitted the three reports in 2018 in connection with the drugs cases in Punjab. The SIT was headed by former Punjab DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyaya.
