DIBRUGARH: With the Covid-19 situation in the state turning grim, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday visited the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) to take stock of the arrangements. The CM also visited the newly commissioned twin oxygen plants at AMCH.
Speaking to the press, Sonowal said, “We have discussed with the AMCH authority about the present ICU facilities. Currently AMCH has 80 ICU units, while another 25 ICU units will be added soon. We are united in this fight against Covid-19 and will defeat the virus. I thank the doctors, nurses and laboratory technicians of AMCH who are working hard in this hour of crisis.”
The 45-year-old BCPL official identified as Manob Jyoti Duarah passed away at around 11.30 AM.

GUWAHATI: In an unfortunate incident, the chief manager of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) passed away of Covid19 infection at the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on April 14.
According to reports, the 45-year-old BCPL official identified as Manob Jyoti Duarah passed away at around 11.30 AM.
As per Dr. Prashanta Dihingia, superintendent of AMCH, Duarah was a diabetic patient and with high blood pressure.
Further, the deceased was admitted to the SARI Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the medicine unit on April 10.
