Presque Isle saddened by loss of beloved community leader Milt Smith loved to fly. Like the most agile of birds, he’d soar near the clouds, taking in the long-distance view of the community he loved and served. Sometimes in his single-engine fixed-wing plane and sometimes in the Hopper, the one-man balloon he built, Milt Smith could momentarily step back from his busy world to look and listen before he was back on the ground, running.
Donor Remembers Father with Gift to Hospital, Presque Isle, Maine
Northern Light AR Gould Hospital is honored to receive a $10,000 donation in memory of Alex Silver from his daughter Beverly Silver Bachrach. The gift was directed to the hospital’s campaign to upgrade and expand its cardiac telemonitoring capabilities, as Silver benefitted from cardiac services at AR Gould during his lifetime.

“The hospital saved my dad s life when he had his first heart attack at a young age,” Bachrach said. “I thought how fitting to remember my father in the town where he was a successful businessman and a place where he was active and enjoyed life.”
