National HIV/AIDS Awareness Days play a pivotal role in breaking down the stigma associated with HIV, fostering crucial conversations and actions aimed at ending the epidemic through targeted outreach and education across diverse communities.
The fundraising charity breakfast “Beyond Business”, which seeks to shine a light on the crucial issue of child sexual abuse in the Helderberg, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 18 October.
Le Patch Charity Shop in Somerset West is dependent on the generosity of compassionate Helderbergers who open their hearts to a cause, and in dire need of additional support which, if adequate enough, will aid future development and an expanded offering.
“Every year Patch receives up to three calls from various corporate organisations looking to dedicate their 67 minutes visiting our child clients, handing out items to them and taking photos. After explaining that we are not a safe house and due to the nature of the crime that we specialise in, we need to protect the identities of our child clients, we are overlooked and asked to refer another NPO which is exceptionally disappointing for us.”
