white house meeting in december of 2020. flynn along with a crew of trump s lawyers like rudy giuliani and sidney powell, presented an avalanche of baseless claims of election fraud, while the white house lawyers debunked all of them. at that meeting, sydney powell presented trump with a draft executive order that would have directed the military to seize our nation s voting machines. a lot of that plan would have also made sydney powell herself a special counsel, and could have imposed martial law, and require a re-run of the election. obviously, that didn t, and thankfully, in the happening. the mutinous ideas pitched in that oval office meeting did not exist in a vacuum. they were part of a desperate effort by trump s outside legal team to upend the results of the 2020 election. those lawyers would ultimately file and lose more than 60 lawsuits, pushing bogus instances of election fraud. so, it makes sense that the wall street journal today is reporting that special counse
concerned however, because although paul can certainly tell you, it s possible to cut a deal after one is indicted. it s much easier to cut a deal before that ever happens. and so, if you are a person like rudy giuliani, or mike roman, who was the director of election day operations, he s the guy who tried to deliver those fake elector slates to mike pence, you really want to cut any deal that you are willing and able to cut before either one of those indictments is coming down the pipe for you. ball, i guess we will end here on the point about these investigations, there is jack smith, the federal track, there is fani willis, we haven t even gotten into new york this week. but is there any not concerned, but maybe overlap. does jack smith look at what fani willis is doing, just from what s available to the public? does that influence what he does or vice versa, or not? they are probably not talking to each other.
discussed. according to the post, while doug ducey was certifying the results of the election arizona for joe biden, trump was calling to ask him not to do it. quote, in a phone call in late 2020, president donald trump tried to pressure arizona governor doug ducey to overturn the state s presidential election results, saying that if enough fraudulent votes could be found, it would overcome trump s narrow loss in arizona, according to three people familiar with the call. we know that special counsel jack smith is investigating donald trump s similar attempt to pressure georgia s secretary of state officials to overturn the election. but according to that washington post, it is unclear if doug ducey has been contacted yet by the special counsel s office. even his front page news, i would imagine that calling governor ducey would be added to jack smith s to do list, if he hasn t already done so. now, jack smith is under an extraordinary amount of scrutiny, as he continues to lead crimina
presidential primary is delegate by delegate, state by state. and chris christie is in new hampshire, and we will see what happens there. but trump s strategy has been to be at these huge rallies. we don t see him doing a lot of retail politics. so, do you think that there is room in this primary for a republican who may be good at retail politics to edge out donald trump. what are other republicans saying out there? there could be. but the difference is in the republican party, you have to be good at the hand wringing and that politicking. and also speak, someone like donald trump, speak to the base of the party. there is not a candidate at this point who is good at the handshaking and kissing babies. and also, that is charming, and voters will elect them. and can give that red meat space. ron desantis isn t it. chris christie, he is not liked in the base of the republican party. so, finding someone who can tow that line in this primary process doesn t exist.
