Prime Minister to Meet with Cruise Industry Executives in the US

Prime Minister Honourable Allen M. Chastanet will travel to the United States from May 5th to May 8th 2021 for several meetings including key engagements with Cruise Industry officials in Miami, Florida.
As Saint Lucia and the region prepare for the reopening of the Cruise Sector, anticipated in July of this year, Prime Minister Chastanet, who co-chairs the Committee for the Caribbean and the Americas, has been playing a lead role in CARICOM on this issue.
The Prime Minister’s discussions with cruise lines will also center on the development of Saint Lucia’s southern cruise port.
Prime Minister Leads by Example and Supports Vaccine Roll Out

Saint Lucia began the first phase of the COVID-19 Vaccine Roll Out today with several frontliners and key Government officials receiving the first vaccines in a live broadcast, including Prime Minister Honourable Allen Chastanet. The Prime Minister led by example and along with his wife Mrs. Raquel Du Boulay-Chastanet showed support for the team from the Ministry of Health by receiving the vaccines following several nurses, local physicians, fire and police personnel.
Administering the first vaccines is a great milestone for public health officials in reducing the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak and the first person to receive the first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine in Saint Lucia was Principal Nursing Officer, Julietta Cassius, who opened up about her own experiences with COVID-19.
