  The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar has said Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, deceived four of his colleagues into committing political suicide.   Wike and four other governors united and formed the G-5 following Atiku’s victory at the PDP presidential primary election in 2022.   The G-5 comprises Governors Wike, Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo).  

  Alaibi Nnana Joseph, Special Assistant on Media to Chief Uche Secondus, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has berated Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over the current crisis in the party.   Wike has been at loggerheads with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, since the party’s presidential primary in May.
