District 65 School Board announces Mya Wilkins as new member

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 announced during a Monday special board meeting that Mya Wilkins (Kellogg ’06) will join the D65 School Board.  Wilkins, a parent to two students in the district, will fill the vacancy left by Anya Tanyavutti, who resigned her position last month. Wilkins currently works as an executive director at JP Morgan.

U S Senator Lindsey Graham proposes abortion bill

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham introduced the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act on September 13th.  What’s new: This legislation would place a federal ban on abortions after 15 weeks gestation, if passed by the Senate. What’s new: Early voting on Statesboro’s campus is open to faculty, staff, and students who are registered to vote in Bulloch County.  Why it matters: This election’s ballot includes the office seat for the U.S Senate, contests for governor, and seven other statewide offices.  Votes will also count towards decision-making for two state constitutional amendments.

Senior University administrators delivered updates and fielded questions on Northwestern’s impending redesign of Ryan Field at Wednesday’s Faculty Senate meeting. After gaining approval from the Board of Trustees, the University unveiled plans for the stadium’s $800 million renovation last month.
