Farmers, cops clash in Hisar as Khattar inaugurates Covid facility

Hisar, May 16 A violent clash occurred between farmers and police as stone pelting was witnessed and the cops resorted to use of teargas and force in Hisar town on Sunday. Around 50 farmers and nearly 20 cops were reportedly injured in the clash that continued for nearly two hours. The incident occurred when the farmers were proceeding towards Hisar town from Ramayan toll plaza to stage protest on the arrival of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar who has inaugurated newly set up Covid hospital at the Om Prakash Jindal Modern School in the Industrial Area in the town. The farmers had given a call to stage protest and show black flags to the CM. 

NCR, Punjab patients flood Hisar hospitals

2270 Deepender Deswal Hisar, April 27 Hisar hospitals are flooded with queries for admission, ICU beds and ventilators from Covid patients in Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region, including Gurugram and Noida. Sources said out of around 1,000 Covid patients admitted to 31 hospitals in Hisar, around 350 (35 per cent) are from outside Haryana. Hisar hospitals are also getting patients from adjoining districts of Jind, Fatehabad, Sirsa and Bhiwani. One of the hospitals here has 20 patients from Delhi. Sources say some of the hospitals are admitting patients beyond their capacity. “The death of five patients at a private hospital yesterday is a case in point. Among the deceased patients, one was from Mansa (Punjab) and another from Delhi. The hospital did not have adequate oxygen cylinders to deal with the emergency situation, leading to a tragedy,” said a hospital official.

HISAR: Five Covid-19 patients on ventilator support died at a private hospital here on Monday morning, allegedly after their oxygen supply ran out. This incident happened within 24 hours of two similar incidents in Haryana. Police said they were verifying the allegations of oxygen shortage after relatives of some of the deceased held a protest outside the facility. Cops were deployed in and around the hospital to prevent any untoward incident. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter, in addition to the medical board ordering one. Three of the patients who died at Soni Hospital hailed from Hisar district, one belonged to Delhi and one was from Punjab.
