DIMAPUR, MARCH 23 (MExN): The Rising People’s Party (RPP) on Saturday said the claim of the NSCN-K (Yung Aung) that the Myanmar government is going to conscript Naga youths was alarming.
Stressing proactive measures, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh highlighted the deployment of biometric systems in areas like Kamjong and Ukhrul, urging similar strategies in regions like Behiang, adjacent to Myanmar, considering reports of heightened conflicts in the neighbouring country. Asserting a humanitarian approach toward individuals fleeing violence, the Chief Minister emphasized the necessity of identifying them through biometric data collection, offering temporary shelter without allowing the establishment of permanent settlements within the States borders.
