There are no easy fixes for this, there are no easy fixes for this, there is this huge asylum backlog. people waiting 14 months to have the application is processed. there is clearly no obvious solution to stopping people leaving the french coast in small boats and coming over to england. i think there is a feeling in government that there needs to be urgently a new deal done with france but nobody is quite sure what that deal would look like. and the home office, and the agencies attached to it...
