Europe Adopts New Measures to Combat Covid-19
32,500 people died from Covid-19 in France over the last five months. It’s higher than the number of people who died from the coronavirus in France at the start of the pandemic.
The number of new infections each day continues to surpass the goal the French government set before it put a new national lockdown into effect last month.
But France isn’t alone. Daily infections are also up in the U.K., where a more aggressive strain of the virus is spreading.
While the U.K. has been vaccinating people for weeks now, the immunization campaign in continental Europe is just kicking into gear. Now, with new cases rapidly piling up, governments are being forced to consider more lockdowns and financial aid to weather this phase.
