Production Press to end Jacksonville offset printing operation

A family-owned Jacksonville printing company marking its 100th year in operation said Wednesday that it will be ending the offset printing part of the business at the end of the month.
Owner and President Joe Racey and his business partner, Vice President Brad Racey, said the company made significant upgrades and investments in printing equipment to remain a player in a highly competitive industry. Among the upgrades was the installation in May 2020 of a new Heidelberg five-color printer.
The investments added efficiencies to support the company’s top customer, the federal Government Printing Office. Production Press had been chosen for the past 30 years as a top print service provider to government printing offices across the country, they said.
