April 29, 2021 Perflow Medical announced the first successful clinical use of the Stream17 dynamic neurothrombectomy net in the treatment of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients. The first clinical procedures were successfully completed by Professor Karlis Kupcs, MD, who is head of Radiology at the Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital in Riga, Latvia.
According to Perflow Medical, the low-profile Stream17 device, which is built on the company’s Cerebral Net technology, is designed for tortuous anatomy. Stream17 adds to Perflow Medical’s product portfolio that also includes the recently commercialized Cascade17 dynamic nonocclusive remodeling net for coil embolization of intracranial aneurysms.
