Faith Maternity Care (FMC) exists to serve women who choose to carry their babies to full-term, by providing a home for expectant mothers, along with community client services for moms who already have a place to call home. Our client Kavacia had encountered difficult childhood circumstances that followed her into young adulthood, surrounded by negative people, sketchy places, and substance use abuse. Having recently moved out of a domestic violence shelter, Kavacia walked through her fears of uncertainty, as she made her way through our doors, arriving pregnant, scared, and very much alone. Kavacia admitted, "I struggled with codependency, indecisiveness, depression, and people pleasing; all of these kept me in a place that was sad and stagnant and kept me in a dark place."
