Everybody in washington is very concerned about this phenomenon called the sequester which is the benefit of the audience, these automatic indiscriminate acrosstheboard cuts, 5 to domestic agencies, 8 to the pentagon, youve been looking at the kind of impact this will have. What do you expect . How much damage do you think it would do for Government Operations . How badly would it affect your constituents and people across the country . Well, needless to say, being an appropriator, i think its an idiotic way to do business. These are indiscriminate cuts. Theyre not thought through but are automatic across the board without any consideration of good, bad or evil, or whatever. So i think the cuts are devastating. Im sad to see it take place but i dont see an effort being made realistically to stop it. Do you, mr. Chairman, do you think that once the sequester actually takes effect, that people will see the wide ranging implications of this and they would actually start working together t
Million people. Gives them a tax credit, greater choice. One of the issues i have with the models, theyre static. They talk about this piece, this prong only. I think when you look at the subsidy and the cost of a current plan right now without looking at prong 2 and 3 and how those will drive down costs, then its not a fair analysis of where the plan is going. We live in a country of 320 Million People. At some point, you cant force a product or good down people on a free society. If you can give them a quality product that serves their needs that they have at the time at a price that they can afford, theres a greater likelihood i

Praising chris wray as a rising star and he suggested i recommend him to my former Senate Colleagues as a terrific choice to be confirmed tahead t the Criminal Division of the department of justice. Since that time i followed chris career in and out of government and i satisfied myself fully that my support for chris in 2003 was well placed. I can assure this committee that chris embodies the same traits that enabled griffin bell to rebuild Public Confidence in the department of justice, quickness of mind, candor, integrity and independence. A couple of questions. What is the basis of my confidence in chris . Senator feinstein, i hope to address some of your questions in answering that question i pose. From his service as assistant United States attorney in atlanta 1997 where chris worked with the fbi in the trenches of federal criminal investigati
