BALTIMORE, MD – (January 22, 2021) – The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is pleased to announce the launch of a new Career and Technical Education (CTE) program of study in partnership with Apple that will teach students mobile applications and software development beginning next school year. The Mobile Applications and Software Development Program starts by teaching students how to use the Swift programming language. Swift is used to program macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS and other devices.
This new CTE program will provide students with hands-on experiences in the rapidly growing world of mobile app development and software engineering. Nearly all tri-county high schools show an increase in graduation rates
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Despite a number of major COVID-19-related changes to last year s school year, students and schools still found ways to increase graduation rates.
Four out of the five high schools in Bend-La Pine Schools reported an increase in graduation rates. The Bend Tech Academy at Marshall had its graduation rate increase 16.5% to nearly 63%. La Pine High rose about 6.5%, while Mountain View High rose by nearly 6% and Summit High saw an increase of nearly 4.5%.
